In winter, snow monkeys are often seen playing in the hot springs. However, please note that the monkeys are wild animals, and sightings in the water cannot be guaranteed.

As the weather can be very cold and the walk to Jigokudani Onsen takes about 40 minutes on snowy paths, we recommend wearing non-slip shoes and warm, comfortable clothing.
